Upon completing the application and interview process, each resident is given their personalized recovery plan that is specifically designed to help guide them in the right direction.
Besides helping find our residents employment,, we also give them opportunities to learn new life skills and trades that will help them become productive members of society.
Residents are expected to pay their monthly dues (rent, groceries, services, ect.) follow and abide by a daily schedule which includes house chores and attending recovery meetings which are held in each house and in the community. Also, residents are required to follow a nightly curfew with no exceptions.
We have found through our own personal experiance that if you are willing to put the same amount of effort that you dedicated to your addiction into your recovery, that you can live the life you have always deserved. Through dedication, paitence, and hard work recovery is possible and New Purpose Living is dedicated to helping every one of our residents find a New Life and a New Purpose
Finding Purpose
We have certain requirements that each resident must follow in order to be sucessful in our program. We are firm believers in the 12 step methods of Alcohol and Narcotics Annonyomous. These programs help set a firm foudation for any addict seeking recovery. These requirements include:
1. Getting a Sponsor
A Sponsor is a member of a 12 step program who has a extended amount of time in recovery who has worked the steps and who is willing to build a special, supportive, one-on-one relationship to help guide you in your recovery.
2. Attend weekly meetings.
Meeting are held daily in the community and at least once a week in each house.
3. Work the Steps with a Sponsor
Working the steps is a essential part of being sucessful in the program. It gives you the tools and knowledge on how to avoid falling back into addiction.
4. Being of Service
Being of service is the voluntary, unpaid act of helping other achieve and maintain sobriety. Rooted in the 12th step "carrying the message" is the cornerstone of recovery that moves the focus away from oneself and channels gratitude into action.
5. Finally, all residents must make a commitment to abstinence from all drugs and alcohol, rigorous honesty, and personal accountability.
